Wines Included In This Case Are:

2013 Cuvee Prestige Millesime, Champagne Gobillard
(60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir)

This fine, vintage ‘grower Champagne’ is aged for at least four years before it is ready for release, the extended time on the lees creates complex tertiary aromas of dried fruits and hazelnuts that lead to an elegant palate of citrus blossom, greengage and honey. It is a connoisseur’s wine, made with hand selected premier cru grapes, delivering the ultimate expression of premium Champagne, a style that will work perfectly as a distinguished food match or sophisticated aperitif.

Classy Champagne, restrained and elegant, with dried fruit on the nose and a mouthful of almonds and hazelnuts.

NV Brut Rosé, Gobillard
(34% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier)

Gobillard Rosé is also made from the same blend, in the same proportions as the 1er Cru. It is aged for three years in the cellar before release. The fine white mousse leads up to a delicately strawberry-scented nose with a creamy, yeasty and racy leafy edge. Full-bodied, elegant and delicate with warm brioche, red fruit and grapefruit on the palate.

NV Brut Classique, Alfred Gratien
(46% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier)

The pale yellow hue of this wine’s robe is complemented by its lively effervescence. The bubbles are small and quick to rise to a fine mousse. The nose is moderately intense yet complex. The sweet pastry, biscuit and orchard fruit notes are followed and enhanced by hints of citrus, white flowers and fresh butter. The initial taste is clean and smooth and the finish is crisp, with a slight mineral undertone, and long.

Gratien owns just 1.5 hectares of vineyards, with the majority of their fruit fulfilled via long-term contracts with growers across a diverse set of Crus. The grapes are picked and pressed near the vineyards, the musts are then transported to headquarters in Epernay, where they are placed into oak barrels and fermented. High quality standards are maintained in the selection of grapes, traditional vinification and maturing in small 228 litre oak casks, with self-imposed limits on production levels to maintain the original character and the wine retains its freshness, even as it ages.

NV Brut Reserve, Pol Roger
(34% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier)

Crisp and elegant, lightly lemony Champagne with a wonderful balance between the apples and pears on the one hand and the biscuits and bread on the other.

Brut Réserve is blended from 30 still base wines from different vineyards, different vintages and the three main grape varieties which dominate the champagne region. Pinot Noir contributes body, depth of character and life-extending tannins; Chardonnay provides the lightness, elegance and finesse and Pinot Meunier supplies youthful freshness, vigour and plump character.

NV R de Ruinart
(57% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 3% Pinot Meunier)

A Champagne blend fragrant with white pear, almonds and hazelnuts, leading on to a mouthful of white flowers, pastry and buttered brioche.

A yellow colour with golden glints and a crystal-like brilliance. Fine bubbles that rise in an airy, long-lasting line.

On the nose the wine is delicate and fresh. White-fleshed fruit (pear), dried fruits (almond). Scents of white flowers (acacia). Aromas of fresh butter & Viennese pastries. The palate is perfectly balanced and fresh with an extremely long finish.

NV Jacquart Demi Sec
(40% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir, 27% Pinot Meunier)

Dense, clear pale yellow with golden nuances and lemon highlights. On first pour, the nose conjures up candied lemon core and zest smells entwined with fruit notes of sweet almond and bush peach with flowers (daffodils, buttercup) and fresh bread. The palate unfurls lush, fleshy weight suffused with candied fruits and herbal nuances. Dosage is soft and supported by aromatic freshness, capped off with a final ethereal sensation.
